About the series
Tapis Volant is a fully integrated course in three stages written specifically for secondary school students learning French in Australia and New Zealand.
Tapis Volant 1 is now in its second edition, with Tapis Volant 2, second editon due to be published in 2003/2004. The second edition retains many of the features of the highly successful first edition, including the focus on French as a language of the Pacific as well as an international language.
Each stage has a full-colour Student Book, a Workbook with audio CD and interactive web activities for the student; and a set of audio CDs and comprehensive resource material for the teacher.
About the authors
Jane Zemiro was educated in Queensland and in France. She taught in state high schools in New South Wales from 1970 to 1985, then worked as a Senior Lecturer in teacher education at the University of Sydney until 1999. She was awarded the Palmes Académiques by the French Government in 2000. She has also written a series of French language books, Révisions I, II, and III (co-author Ross Steele).
Alan Chamberlain was educated in New South Wales and in France. He taught in NSW before teaching and studying at the University of Paris-Sorbonne. He worked as Associate Professor in French at the University of New South Wales from 1973 to 1993, then as Associate Professor in Language Education at the University of Brunei. He has also written the Guide Pratique de la Communication, (co-author Ross Steele), published by Les Editions Didier, Paris.
